Melbourne partygoers donned their finest denim last Friday night to celebrate Jeans for Genes Day and the launch of new label Gridlock Denim. The Los Angeles based company boasts its innovation with interchangeable pocket details with just a quick zip and snap. The jeans came in a range of colors and washes as well as overalls and denim miniskirts all with the interchangeable pockets. Held at Melbourne’s Silk Road bar, fashionistas were entertained with roaming models donned in Americana themed outfits providing plenty of poses with their cocktails. Some male models even braved wearing only white trunks with the Gridlock Pockets whilst promoting the menswear line to be released in the near future. The night finally ended with the models strutting their stuff down the runway.

Late one Oxford night Daniel P Dykes set about creating a fashion publication that would go someway to being an arbiter on fashion as it appeals to the emerging power generations: those who don't remember a world without the Internet and for whom work plays second fiddle to pleasure. And so Fashionising.com was born as a publication for those who were focussed not just on fashion's trends, but on society's too, and how those trends could all go to heighten the art of living. Hence, Daniel sees a future where, for those young at heart, both fashion and style are grounded in traditional quality, but with a youthful, sensualised edge. Daniel is Fashionising.com's Editor in Chief and Chairman.
