Hayden, Hayden, Hayden. I was so hopeful for a moment there. Yes, you made a massive error of judgement to wear your hem line so short you lacked femininity; but then you stepped out in a Kaufman Franco gown and I thought that perhaps you’d learnt your lesson. In fact, all you’d learnt was to let a stylist dress you for the night. Because I’ll be damned if I believe your ‘look’ at Madonna’s concert in Los Angeles was anything but self-inflicted.

And the saddest part is that you seem to know it. Why else would your body language be screaming “uncomfortable” most the time?

Consider the worst element here. The exposed chest? No. The accessorising? Not overly elegant, but not tacky either. No, the worst thing about Hayden’s look are the leggings. Yes, leggings have been a big fashion trend over the past years but when worn in place of any other layer you need the legs for them; and as we proved with your short hems, your legs aren’t your greatest feature.

Late one Oxford night Daniel P Dykes set about creating a fashion publication that would go someway to being an arbiter on fashion as it appeals to the emerging power generations: those who don't remember a world without the Internet and for whom work plays second fiddle to pleasure. And so Fashionising.com was born as a publication for those who were focussed not just on fashion's trends, but on society's too, and how those trends could all go to heighten the art of living. Hence, Daniel sees a future where, for those young at heart, both fashion and style are grounded in traditional quality, but with a youthful, sensualised edge. Daniel is Fashionising.com's Editor in Chief and Chairman.
