You might have seen pictures of Natalie Portman at the Darjeeling Limited premiere, wearing a bright red dress. I have to confess I’ve never been a fan of red. At all. In fact, I don’t think I even own any. I’ve seen too many scary incidents of red going wrong to really want to go there, from the dull maroonish reds that make anyone look drab, to the fire-engine 80s style figure-huggers that are too obvious to be sexy.

Fortunately Natalie showed that red can be done, and done well, by way of her classic styling. By pairing the dress with soft hair and nude lips (as opposed to matching bright red, which can get too much), she manages to look attention grabbing and sweet at the same time.

Perhaps it’s time for me to venture out and add some red to my wardrobe…

What do you think? Vote for Natalie Portman’s outfit.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
