Polaroids have an incredible household element attached to them. It’s either to do with the low-resolution quality or the size of the photograph itself, but they remind me of a country home overlooking a sunflower field during sunset.

That might just be my imagination, but you have to agree that high-end fashion photography and Polaroids are an exception.

Jonathan Leder stays true to the distinctiveness of this unappreciative camera type and snaps model Robyn Williamson in a bedroom. The sheer rawness of his black and white photography speaks for the legitimacy of Polaroids. Seems as though the double-bed mattress has been thrown into the rusty room solely for playful reasons. Perhaps it’s a room where sexual fantasies are met or dictated, the presence of a hand-held whip in each shot is self-explanatory.

Jonathan Leder has always been an ace bedroom photographer, where he’s always drawn a very thin line between the model’s muse behaviour and his secret desires.

But whatever the case may be, the aesthetic in these shots is sure to inspire some high-end fashion photographers, outside the bedroom.
