MaraJoara may have caused quite a storm in the media over their use of ‘everyday’ women as models… but that didn’t stop them from putting on a grand performance at Australian Fashion Week yesterday.

Rather than play it safe and take Australian Fashion Week out with a fizzle, MaraJoara decided to throw caution to the wind in favour of a show that was bold, bright and entertaining; ending the week with a bang.

The colour palette was formed by a wide array of bold shades and funky prints; with one-piece swimsuits in interesting cuts taking just as much of the spotlight as the classic bikini. The outfits were accentuated by bright beads and tribal-esque jewellery for both guys and girls.

Make-up on the girls consisted of bright lips and summery eye-shadows, artfully applied by the team at Di Kennedy cosmetics.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
