James Bond and fashion

Written by Daniel P Dykes

With the 22nd James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace, due in cinemas in November 2008, Fashionising.com will be dedicating part of 2008 to looking at the fashion behind the James Bond film franchise. Bond has a unique place in fashion cinema, while films such as Atonement leave us admiring the heroines wardrobe, seldom does a 'guy flick' dedicate so much time and effort to presenting such a brilliantly refined fashion ensemble.

James Bond and fashion

Leave it to Star Wars fans to dress up like Princess Leia in a bikini (with both terrific and horrific results), Bond fans will spend their lives seeking to dress better, whether they're looking to dress like a Bond girl or James Bond himself.

Traditionalist and futurist are two of the labels applied to Daniel, but he sees the two as being in perfect balance. With a keen eye on the future and his finger on the pulse he helps keep fashionisers everywhere ahead in the fashion stakes as Fashionising.com's lead fashion trend analyst. Believing that the late-2000s credit crisis will be ultimately good for fashion, Daniel sees a future for fashion where grounded in traditional values; where luxury fashion again comes to represent quality production as opposed to being solely label driven.
