Jose Molenaar: all natural

What’s not to love about a natural photo shoot? The occurrence of raw drama before the lens that doesn’t undergo a tedious digital operation is usually classified as a masterpiece. Especially by the harsh media critics.

These shots by Richard Bakker of a newbie in the industry, model Jose Molenaar, are an epitome of an unadulterated beauty. The freckle-faced model from Netherlands has the key ingredients of a new model: the attitude, the confidence and the troubled allure. Messy bed hair and almost make-up free face, she’s literally stepping into the industry with a clean slate.

Wrapped in grandma-knit jumpers, bold sheer blouses, silky pants, and the occasional leather harness, Molenaar couldn’t have asked for better portfolio shots.

Her bank account weeps every time she walks out of a shoe shop, but her shoe rack throws a 'welcome home' party for the new member. Her undying love for words is obvious when she narrates her entire life story to a stranger on the train. Which is partly the reason she's resorted to writing.
