Diego Diaz Marin titled this latest work Gypsy Crisis; but whatever crisis model Fabiola Gomez may be experiencing, it’s not a crisis of style. In frilled flamenco dresses or tiny crocheted minis, she’s experiencing summer with a sartorial mix of traditional and modern.
Marin’s photography flits between saturated, sun-drenched colour, and fragmentedly kaleidoscopic – literally. Repeated images create kaleidoscopic patterns that imitate the effect of multiple shards of symmetrical mirrored glass, and the effect makes for particularly captivating viewing.
