Karl Lagerfeld's Female Dandy: Spring 2010, PFW

Written by Tania Braukamper

While unmistakable elements of Karl - the black and white palette, the high necks - found their way into Lagerfeld's Spring/Summer 2010 runway show at Paris Fashion Week, the collection was overall a breath of fresh air. Playsuits taking on structured shapes; high-waisted shorts paired with cropped tailored jackets; immaculately shaped dresses in feminine silhouettes. And along with all that, a newly Summery take on the Female Dandy trend.

Though taking it back to basics - for it is, indeed, a saleable collection in these times - it wasn't all minimal. Look closely and you'll also see that Lagerfeld's collection was accompanied by electric guitar motif accessories.

There aren't too many alpha-females out there and, though she might deny it, Tania Braukamper certainly exudes their qualities. A keen eye, a focused approach, and a wardrobe spanning three rooms have made her one of the savviest of dressers. But it's not all couture for Tania, earning her fashionista credentials she'll frequently be seen on the town in a one-off, vintage dress and a pair of Gucci heels.

She says: Vintage will never go out of style
We say: Does that include vintage 80s?
