Karlie Kloss: after hours mischief

Is after-hours party planning the ultimate decider in reinstating your status in society?

What parties you attend, who you share tasteless platters of canapés with or whose bedroom you end up in?

If so, then Karlie Kloss deserves a medal for what looks like the start of a very crazy night out on the town. Terry Richardson has adroitly captured the surprise-filled chase between the camera lens and her escape. It’s not the typical backdrop that you’d expect from Richardson, as this one brilliantly seizes the action outside the blank walls of a bedroom. The drama is created with glitter, animal-print overcoats, leg-bearing silk gowns, revealing lace dresses and fierce heels.

But what comes to my mind is a piece Daniel wrote about Karlie Kloss’ Allure magazine editorial spread. He spoke about how the Kloss and Mario Testino’s combination, in that particular editorial, blurred the line between sensual vs. sexual representation.

On viewing this editorial from the November issue of British Vogue, Kloss seems to be clinching to her timeless self rather than taking any evident risks. Well, at least on the modelling front. Despite the wild and passionate aesthetic of the shoot, when Kloss’ innocent gaze is teamed with her sexy and confident attitude, you know who’s the winner.

Kloss is definitely back (not that she went anywhere)!
