Muscle cars and midriffs made beautiful (video)

80s muscle cars and models in the kind of hacked-off-to-the-underboob tees you might find on a lad’s mag cover. So far it’s not sounding like the type of video that might be cinematically dramatic and backed by the radiant notes of Faure’s Requiem. And yet, that’s exactly what it is.

Starring Bambi Northwood-Blyth, Cisco Gorrow and Heidi Harrington-Johnson the Daniel Askil-directed video for Ksubi ‘Kolors’ is perfectly themed to the brand. And, it makes burn-out smoke and exposed midriffs seem somehow so beautiful.

Shot next to Sydney’s Kingsford Smith International Airport in barren industrial wasteland that car fanatics converge on after dark and with a Phantom camera, Askill captures each and every denim movement and smoke billow at 1500 frames per second.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
