“When I shoot I’m not looking to capture something pretty, I’m looking to capture something real,” says Clarens Tyson of his photography work. In shooting model Gabrielle we’d be lying to say he didn’t do both, though in this case what Clarens really means is that ‘pretty’ isn’t enough – something real goes beyond pretty. Something real is beautiful.

“Here I introduce Gabrielle from Next models, this beautiful 5’9 model with freckles,” says Clarens. “She’s an amazing model and a beautiful person. For this shoot it was only Gabrielle and I. I wanted to go with simplicity and focus on emotions for that shoot and really capture her natural beauty.” Statuesque, beautiful, and covered by galaxies of freckles, Clarens is right on all accounts.

20th Century Literateur Dorothy Parker once wrote: “Four be the things I’d have been better without: love, curiosity, freckles and doubt.” Perhaps for her time that were true, but Clarens Tyson’s shoot makes it clear that freckles can be scratched from that equation.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
