Fashion from the turn of the 20th century might seem very far removed from the hippy era of the 1970s… but, that’s only if you discount the influence of Art Nouveau artists like Alphonse Mucha on the latter era. This shoot starring Malgosia Bela crosses between the two. The title is Bohem Rapsodi, and while the style references hint to the 70s in many regards, there’s, perhaps, also the connotation of the geographic Bohemia in which Mucha was born and bred. All of the elements are there: the long, flowing hair, the peacocks and wildflowers, the gauzy robes and floor-length dresses… the Cuneyt Akeroglu photographed series could comfortably fit within the Art Nouveau or the hippy era, and that’s what makes it such a beautifully captivating shoot.
Ece Sukan was responsible for the styling. Click on the gallery below to view the rest of the shoot.
