Milan Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2008

Written by Daniel P Dykes

For fashionisers living in Milan we can only envy your ability to live the fun and madness of the ready-to-wear collections currently being shown as a part of Milan Fashion Week.

Not being there, however, isn't stopping us getting our own little piece of the action by way of some of excellent online coverage. You can see our highlights of MFW in the Designers & Collections fashion forum where Allan is posting his picks from some of the top designers.

So who am I looking forward to? Generally the staples of any fashion week such as Burberry Prorsum and Prada, and no doubt Tania is looking forward to yet another Ralph Lauren Collection. But, as with any fashion week, it's the designers who don't really get stocked outside of the host country that really make it worth our while.

Traditionalist and futurist are two of the labels applied to Daniel, but he sees the two as being in perfect balance. With a keen eye on the future and his finger on the pulse he helps keep fashionisers everywhere ahead in the fashion stakes as Fashionising.com's lead fashion trend analyst. Believing that the late-2000s credit crisis will be ultimately good for fashion, Daniel sees a future for fashion where grounded in traditional values; where luxury fashion again comes to represent quality production as opposed to being solely label driven.

Currently based in Melbourne, Daniel is Fashionising.com's Editor in Chief and Chairman.
