Every fashion trend has its poster-girl. The sapphic and androgynous did, as did rock, but the 1950s fashion trend revival has to find its own. Or has it? For the second time in as many months, model Miranda Kerr graces a magazine’s pages transformed from Victoria’s Secret bombshell into mid-20th Century pin up.
The latest restyling of Miranda Kerr is to be found within the pages of Numero Tokyo’s June 2012 issue. Here Kerr’s bombshell vibe is toned down and the look more 50s housewife than 50s sex kitten. But she’s a housewife who knows her clothing (even if she does have access to clothing from some 60 years in the future) as stylist Akari Endo-Gaut works Kerr through looks from the labels who have done much to define the current season’s 50s revival: Prada, Louis Vuitton, and Marc Jacobs.
