When you’re a little girl, no dream is unachievable, everyone can be a princess and it only takes a little bit of glitter to make you smile. Much the same can be said when looking upon Vivienne Mok’s work; her multitalented self always brings dreamy, fairy tale-like photoshoots to reality. For instance, her spread in the 3rd issue of Dew Magazine features the model Nea; styled with oriental softness and photographed to perfection you cannot help but wonder back to those innocent years.
Nea, who appears to be virginal and pure, looks to the camera in wonderment. Maybe someone has cast a spell, or she’s hiding from the wicked step mother, or maybe she is waiting for her Prince to rescue her. Whichever connotation you look through there is definitely a story waiting to be read.
Vivienne uses an array of brands to fashion what looks like Nea in Narnia! Silk, tulle, chiffon and embroidered cotton all fused together to form a flawless romantic feature. With soft lighting, floral props and sun rays swimming through branches, it’s hard not to believe in fairy princesses all over again.
