Nostalgic, dreamy and sensual. If my German is up to scratch (and a quick Google translate search says it is – in this case, anyway) then those are the qualities Horst Diekgerdes’ latest shoot for Vogue Germany is aiming for.
Set on the scenic shores of the Siethen lake in Germany, it perfectly scores the trifecta. Julia von Boehm’s styling of victory rolls, knit stockings held up by garters, and vintage-style lingerie ushers in the feelings of nostalgia. The lakeside setting, carefully devoid of anything that might definitively place the shoot in a particular timeframe, is cool and dreamy. But it’s Anais Pouliot that closes the deal with her irrepressible aura of sensuality.
If you want to know how to pull off vintage styling with maximum sensual effect, then Seen-Sucht in Vogue Germany’s August 2011 issue is one to study carefully.
