Not quite Sandra Dee

When Rizzo in Grease sings ‘Look at me, I’m Sandra Dee’ she’s mocking the good girl image of the musical’s leading lady. But as 2012′s fashions go, it’s not just the Greasers and the rebels serving as inspiration for a ’50s revival, but the good girls too. As this shoot from Elle Sweden shows, the key now is to mix it up. Soft retro hair, jewelled earrings and a pastel palette are given a sexy edge with boob-tube cuts, exposed midriffs and sporty mesh shorts. Pretty, but with a little tousle – just like Mona Johannesson’s hair.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person.
