We undoubtedly have a soft spot for bicycle chic at Fashionising.com, but if this picture has not been in anyway staged then we’re now featuring something that takes the art of fashionable bicycle riding to a whole new level. In short, it shows a rather bland bicycle embellished by an Hermes Birkin bag and about to be ridden by one Olivia Palermo, leather shorts and all. So far, so standard. But in those heels?

Perhaps they’re going to be placed gently into the Birkin from which sensible flats shall replace them. Or perhaps Olivia Palermo has simply mastered the balancing act required in order to wear heels while riding a bicycle.

This look was snapped during London fashion week by The Sartorialist.

hahahaha the picture that popped into my head upon seeing this photo on the satorialist was that of Olivia seeing him with his camera and hauling ass up to a bike to pose, hoping to be shot. I don't for a second believe that Olivia owns a bike, let alone, knows how to ride one.

Actually, seeing as you pedal using the ball of your foot and not the heel, the height of the heel doesn't make any difference. It's also easier to cycle in heels than walk in them! I do cycle in heels but to admit have these would be too high for me. However, a quick study of all cycle chic blogs would reveal that many women cycle in heels - it's a fallacy that you it's difficult.

Late one Oxford night Daniel P Dykes set about creating a fashion publication that would go someway to being an arbiter on fashion as it appeals to the emerging power generations: those who don't remember a world without the Internet and for whom work plays second fiddle to pleasure. And so Fashionising.com was born as a publication for those who were focussed not just on fashion's trends, but on society's too, and how those trends could all go to heighten the art of living. Hence, Daniel sees a future where, for those young at heart, both fashion and style are grounded in traditional quality, but with a youthful, sensualised edge. Daniel is Fashionising.com's Editor in Chief and Chairman.
