Niklas Hoejlund’s vision of what a jewellery shoot should be isn’t necessarily like that of other photographer’s. There are no liberal lashings of gold chains or frosty sprinklings of diamonds. You won’t find model Helene dripping in layers of pearls and its not a competition to fit as many items as possible into a single frame.
Refreshingly, Kristine Wold’s styling is spartan. There’s nothing to draw your eye in each shot bar for a single accessory: a graduated bead necklace, an oversized ring, a pair of perspex cuffs. And, of course, Hoejlund’s beautifully coloured photography.
With makeup by Louise Polano, Helene’s rich lip colour is the perfect contrast to the blue water.
