How much has changed in 20 years?
It by no means provides a definitive answer, nor even beings to scratch the surface; but Dazed & Confused’s Collections Special does enough time travelling to pique our interest. Why? The special features highlights from current collections, but also features some of the designs that the major fashion houses were turning out back in 1991. And not all of the hits from the ’90s stand out as obvious.
Part of that comes down to the coherent style of the photographs, the modern-day talent (which doesn’t always stick to the usual crowd of models) and the styling. But part comes down to the fact that fashion is always a little bit of history repeating.
