Pyjama and night-ware designer Peter Alexander held his 20 year retrospective yesterday with a fashion show held as a part of the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. Like many of the other shows held as a part of the festival it certainly was a ‘spectacular’ with dancing sets and gorgeous models aplenty.

Alexander has certainly managed to change the pyjama industry in Australia, and it isn’t out of the ordinary to find a girl wearing his pieces as day wear such is their quality. This season’s collection similarly won’t disappoint. Look our for tartan pieces, a trend we also saw on the catwalk of Victoria’s Secret, and long Winter night-ware.

If you’re after the most concise coverage of the show, Fashionising has over 100 photos of it in the Fashion Diary.

Late one Oxford night Daniel P Dykes set about creating a fashion publication that would go someway to being an arbiter on fashion as it appeals to the emerging power generations: those who don't remember a world without the Internet and for whom work plays second fiddle to pleasure. And so Fashionising.com was born as a publication for those who were focussed not just on fashion's trends, but on society's too, and how those trends could all go to heighten the art of living. Hence, Daniel sees a future where, for those young at heart, both fashion and style are grounded in traditional quality, but with a youthful, sensualised edge. Daniel is Fashionising.com's Editor in Chief and Chairman.
