Robin Wright Penn to me will always be Buttercup. You know, “Farm boy, polish my horse’s saddle” Buttercup, the Princess Bride, most beautiful girl in the world (or at least in the top 20, anyway). In Peter Lindbergh‘s portrait of the actress as she is now, she’s far from being that youthful beauty. But the still-striking figure, the character lines on her face, the world-wise expressions, make up an honest, candid portrait that – in its perfect naturalness – is so far from the over-airbrushed celebrity spreads we’ve come to expect.
