Russians know how to a statement, be it on the runway, in a magazine editorial or on the streets. Their take on the latest trends has a particular voice, similar to what we see in this editorial from Vogue Russia.
Its mismatched, confused and over-the-top styling is a documentation of an attitude fur encompasses. Accountable for its carefree attitude, every shot has a rock star feel to it. Cropped skinny pants in bright hues are ironically teamed with animal prints. The unapologetic confidence is precisely what you’d expect from a fur-wearing rocker. Splashes of black, taupe, champagne and violet are highlighted with Russian handicrafts in the backdrop.
Evidently the stylist isn’t adhering to a given narrative, but the canvas of colours on the model is seemingly enough to tell a story.
