Romance meets fetish in Vogue Italia, June 2009

We love this shoot because it dares to marry two completely antithetical fashion trends: the fairytale romance trend and the fetish trend. Though the delicacy of the former sets it poles apart from the hardness of the latter, Vogue Italia’s ‘NEO-romantic’ shoot brings them together in a sort of modern harmony.

Look out for: McQueen’s jewel-encrusted catsuit; Rodarte’s chain fetish shoes; Delfina Delettrez’ skeleton-hand bracelets; and some bondage-inspired leather harnesses – each of which contrasts fabulously to the soft romantic dresses in the shoot.
