There weren’t any to be seen on their autumn / fall 2011 catwalk, but Burberry Prorsum’s influence upon elements of punk fashion becoming mainstream for spring 2011 certainly meant that there were many punk ‘motifs’ to be spotted in the crowd. Taking a look around it seemed that for every chap in a trench coat there was someone else in a piece embellished with studs. Yet no matter how dense those embellishments were (Burberry’s biker jacket ought to give you a fair idea) this young lady took it to another extreme, and potentially right into another sub-culture (if it’s fair to note such things in this era of fashion).

Pairing the spiked leather jacket with a layered tulle skirt, this look was snapped by Phil Oh at the steps of the Albert Memorial in London’s Kensington Gardens.
