Since taking this in-depth look at the future warrior as a thematic 2010 fashion trend, I’ve been waiting patiently for some good street style examples to arise. This one hails from Singapore, and though simple enough, evokes the warrioress theme by way of the exposed shoulders, over the knee socks, and the spiked tribal jewellery.

Street style urban fighter

A good example of how you don’t have to go over the top to make this trend work, this shot is from lookbook.nu.

Where do you people live? In Tokyo or something? Im sorry, but I have never seen anyone wearing a bodycon dress thats just below their privates and a ton of jewelry out on any street. Too slutty. I HATE those thigh highs anyhow. They are just wrong. No class. I know they wear them in some places.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
