My favourite tee is by Claude Maus – it’s grey and has ‘Dark Satanic Mills’ printed on it, a quote from William Blake’s Jerusalem, with an outline of an industrial skyline. I love it so much that I was looking especially forward to seeing the Claude Maus parade at Wednesday night’s Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW) ‘Style Wars’ show.

There was nothing quite as cool as my Jerusalem tee in this collection, I was slightly disappointed to find… but there were some fabulous pieces none-the-less. For the men’s it was leggings, skinny pants or jeans, and cool jackets.

The women’s collection included more rockstar vinyl, perspex-heeled shoes courtesy of Aldo, and some great detailing in the way pieces tied, draped and moved. The colour palette didn’t stray far from black, grey and nudes, but I thought this worked for the particular outfits.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
