Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW) kicked off last night, a day early and with not one but four different parties!

The cr?©me de la cr?©me of Australia’s fashion world kicked things off at Alto, the visually stunning 25th floor of Melbourne’s Langham hotel. Drinks, cakes, oysters, and models galore all helped set the theme for what will be a hell of a week. Of course, things didn’t store there.

The official launch party after party (because you need a title for an excuse to party, right?) was enjoyed by many of those involved in the week at Curve, while on the other side of the Yarra River the crowd was enjoying the launch of Miishu Boutique’s Spring-Summer 2007/2008 range at Baroq House. From there it was off to Alto at GPO, where the Redken gift bags were snapped up with fervour. And if that wasn’t enough, the after-after-after party saw people head back to Baroq House.

Four parties in one night, we clearly don’t know how to pace ourselves.

Late one Oxford night Daniel P Dykes set about creating a fashion publication that would go someway to being an arbiter on fashion as it appeals to the emerging power generations: those who don't remember a world without the Internet and for whom work plays second fiddle to pleasure. And so Fashionising.com was born as a publication for those who were focussed not just on fashion's trends, but on society's too, and how those trends could all go to heighten the art of living. Hence, Daniel sees a future where, for those young at heart, both fashion and style are grounded in traditional quality, but with a youthful, sensualised edge. Daniel is Fashionising.com's Editor in Chief and Chairman.
