In some way every model is a statue. We dress her, sculpt her, paint her, put her on a pedestal to be admired as art. People might refer to models as clothes hangers but hangers are faceless – models, with their statuesque beauty, can maketh the clothes.
Playing to the idea of model as statue is this shoot by Francesco Barion. Hair is plasterered back – literally. Makeup by Britney Batt is powdery white. But the clothing as styled by Karen Gallo has a fluidity that contrasts beautifully to the model’s static form, taking in seasonal favourites like lace, pleats and a leather harness.
