It was the guitar that didn’t.

For sometime there’s been a murmur that Australian model Tiah Eckhardt had a second career in the works: she was recording an album. We’re told that it was little more then banter over drinks that spurred on the rumour, but it was banter quickly reported as fact by bloggers.

It was also banter that was to be played to on the Saint Augustine Academy spring 2011 catwalk. Tiah carried a guitar down that catwalk, the same guitar you can see in this backstage photo of her. But once down the catwalk, the guitar was never meant to return.

Instead it was meant to be smashed. Smashed for dramatic effect. Smashed to bury the rumours.

So why wasn’t it?

OH&S. Yes, we’re told those pesky pencil pushers apparently decreed it too dangerous. Someone, and not just the guitar, might get hurt.

Late one Oxford night Daniel P Dykes set about creating a fashion publication that would go someway to being an arbiter on fashion as it appeals to the emerging power generations: those who don't remember a world without the Internet and for whom work plays second fiddle to pleasure. And so Fashionising.com was born as a publication for those who were focussed not just on fashion's trends, but on society's too, and how those trends could all go to heighten the art of living. Hence, Daniel sees a future where, for those young at heart, both fashion and style are grounded in traditional quality, but with a youthful, sensualised edge. Daniel is Fashionising.com's Editor in Chief and Chairman.
