Twenty-Seven Names Autumn(Fall)/Winter 2010, NZFW

Written by Tania Braukamper

We were somewhat smitten with Twenty-Seven Names' Spring/Summer 2009/2010 collection so we were looking forward to seeing what the brand would present at this year's New Zealand Fashion Week. It began with a rather Melbourne-esque colour palette of black, black, a bit of white and then some more black; before a splash of subdued nature-inspired colours started to shine through. A cream crocheted bodysuit was a great way to bring a Summer staple into Winter. More military jackets in army greens; a peachy short-suit that had a definite element of the Female Dandy.

Crushed velvet even made an appearance in several woodland nymph-ish pieces. With layering that worked in an thrown-together kind of way, Twenty-Seven Names' show is sure to alert much of the world to New Zealand's own brand of effortless cool.

There aren't too many alpha-females out there and, though she might deny it, Tania Braukamper certainly exudes their qualities. A keen eye, a focused approach, and a wardrobe spanning three rooms have made her one of the savviest of dressers. But it's not all couture for Tania, earning her fashionista credentials she'll frequently be seen on the town in a one-off, vintage dress and a pair of Gucci heels.

She says: Vintage will never go out of style
We say: Does that include vintage 80s?
