Alexi Papalexopoulos’ shoot War Story may be styled with worn lace-up boots and an understated military green jacket. But the title refers less to the army-inspired clothing and more to the theme: it’s about, Alexi tells us, man being at war with himself.
The beauty on the outside disguises the darkness and conflict on the inside. Alexi captured this by way of intense shadows and a creeping darkness that permeates the photos, while the cold, deserted beach setting evokes a feeling of emptiness.
