Giving us a sneak peek into the hair and makeup for the upcoming Melbourne Fashion Festival (VAMFF) was industry expert, LMFF Hair Director Brad Ngata. We spotted several 2010 hair trends at the L’Oreal academy when we visited including some gorgeous top knots swept up into both sleek and tousled shapes. We also saw 1940’s inspired waves being made with curlers to give an old fashioned glamorous edge. So what else is in store for the festival? Watch out for braids and natural coloured hair.

We also managed to steal LMFF Make-Up Director Rae Morris for some amazing tips on this season’s makeup. Drawing inspiration from her recent travels to fashion capitals such as Paris, Rae said this season is all about precious metal colours. L’Oreal have a limited edition silver and gold collection that they’ll be releasing for the festival. And for perfectly shaped eyeliner, try sticky tape at the edge of the eye to give you that exact line.
