A fashion shoot captured in the grain of a lonely existence

Fashion can often tell a story that lets the viewer into a deeper meaning and expression behind the tale. Photographer Rio Surya Prasetia creates a sad and meaningful rendition of a princess locked away in a distant tower. This modern-day fairytale represents the solemn and soft reality of a young woman locked away in her own world.

The mind and it’s ability to create its own reality plays an important role in this fashion shoot – the apparel and style that comes through are all indicative of the young woman’s mind, where her thoughts are and what kind of world she is creating, both in her head and what she can create around her. Playful bows, blue and white striped socks and frill accessories reveal the notions of adolescence and innocence, while the use and alternation of blue and white gives her an almost regal elegance.

Gusti Aditya (stylist) uses the Monday to Sunday collection perfectly with intent and purpose, combined with the artistic photography of Prasetia they manage to create a soft and emotional fashion shoot, where the story clings to the heart and the photography appeals to the eyes.

Born into the humble town of Franschhoek, South Africa it was little wonder that Chevaun Roux would find her flavour in life through good food, good wine and stylish apparel. After completing a Bacherlors Degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics the world of freelance writing became the first choice in occupation, with no regrets and having never looked back. With a zest for anything with colour, vibrance and essence she found herself diving further into the world of fashion and design; from thifting vintage wedding dresses to pouring through new and modern jewelry pieces. This self anointed bohemian indentity believes in all the partisan revolutionary ideals of love, beauty and freedom, and when she isn’t writing or editing you can find her at the kitchens helm creating her latest milkshake masterpiece.
