Nicolas Guerin‘s poetic exploration of human emotions, of couples chemistry and burning passions has gifted us with one tremendous editorial after another, and along the way has set high standards for when true feelings come into play. So, it didn’t arrive as a total surprise that after photographing fake pairs, Nicolas stumbled upon the essence defining the absolute geometry of a couple.
Because real sentiments are hard to simulate, true emotions spark off out of those who are really in love, but it still takes an expert eye to catch that rare spark on film, or even to follow onto the trail left by a missing genuineness. Being surrounded by couples at almost every step, we grew so accustomed with the complex display of emotions they entail that we rarely take the time to scratch beneath the surface.
The photo shoot styled by Julien Mazzoli and Sofia Sanz Y Prast delves into the intimacy of a couple, encountering friends and total strangers, young and old, very much alike or worlds apart.
