Alchemy in the New World

Inspired by the elements, by precious metals, by transformation… Alchemy, a shoot by Hilarius Jason for issue 6 of DEW Magazine – the ‘New World’ issue – takes the ancient branch of philosophy and visualises it into a beautiful fashion shoot. Gold is represented in Baroque ornamentation, embroidery and jewels. Bold accessories, styled by Rahajeng Puspitasari, are in some shots superseded by painted skin – blood red and oil-slick black, commentary, perhaps, on humanity’s relationship with nature?

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals.
