There’s something so utterly nostalgic about the 1960s that even those who can’t exactly indulge in their own memories of the decade can’t help but to feel taken back in time at their sight. And what would the American dream be without the retro dinner outside of which a beautiful girl smokes her cigar lost in thought and lost in time? Little matters that in this case, the American dream is set in the heart of Berlin.
Drinks at the bar, the portrait of Elvis hanging over the jukebox, lush evening dresses and the distinctly mod makeup Aiste Vitkauskaite is sporting, manage to put everything in perspective. Inspired by the vibe of the retro diner, photographer Cassie Yusofi turns the Berlin streets into the perfect setting, ready to be invaded by the lady-likeness of the 1960s styling.
In the end it all comes together beautifully: distant memories and wistfulness, beauty and fashion, vision and inspiration, the streets and the city.
