Morfium‘s collections always take you on a trip to some other time, some other place that’s not quite of this world. Often the fantasy is one of mythology, gods and goddesses, always fantastical and always stirring the imagination. Their fall 2013 collection does that again, but this time it’s ancient tribes that beckon you to another time: Morphium’s prehistoric woman might be of the past but she’s intersecting boldly with the future.
Designer Jelena Malesevic was mirroring the patterns – the fascination with triangles and circles – found in ancient pottery. The pieces are fiercely tribal and yet ultimately glamorous, and the unfailingly creative lens of Dusan Jaukovic captures the mood as well as it always does.
