Babes in toyland: perfect like dolls

They’re just a little bit unreal – these girls, these dolls. One’s a tin soldier in towering heels, a ballerina in barely-there tulle. One’s a racoon warrior in a metal mask, a jewellery box figurine. Their skin shines like wax, and their hair ignores gravity by moulding into architectural waves. You might even say these two beauties defy categorisation all together as, far from being just models in clothes, they come across as babes in toyland who can be picked up and dropped into any story.

Roxane and Tessa are the muses in Kay Smith’s cover story for the 16th issue of Bambi, styled by Aurore Donguy into pieces that hide and reveal, flirt and fetishize. Loriane Leger’s theatrical makeup and Raynald’s hairstyling complete the transformation of the two girls from perfect beauties into even more perfect living dolls.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
