Dresses of the white, beaded, bridal variety are seldom the kind you can see a bellybutton through. But then they’re not the kind designed by Brazilian Lourdinha Noyama. In Leandro Ramos’ (leandroramos.com.br) shoot The Factory, Lourdinha Noyama’s gowns stand out for their details: sprinklings of pearl beading, flower-like lace appliques, streamlined silhouettes that occasionally flourish out into fishtails.
Headpieces by Graciella Starling compliment Noyama’s dresses as styled by Margaret Moraes. Blending the boundaries of classical convention with daring touches of sheer fabric in some looks, and sticking to the traditional in others, the consistent factor is that Ramos’ shoot captures white gowns in a way that’s never monotonous.
