As winter approaches, our clothes become thicker and thicker and the colours become darker and darker. It is perfectly natural for us to be drawn to wearing dark clothes as they absorb more heat and keep us warmer during a cold winter day. There are a lot of ways on how you can keep warm yet still look very stylish in the next months and one of them is going for a monochromatic look from head to toe. Keep on reading for tips on how to do this, taking cues from Elisa Sednaoui as she hit the streets of Milan.

monochromatic look for winter

You can wear an all black outfit without channeling the Gothic trend, so don’t be afraid to do it. Like this street style look, the key is to play with texture and varied shades of black. Elisa is wearing a black velvety blazer over a black (with some silver detail) ruffled dress and black tights with high heeled ankle boots. She kept her make up very simple, no dark black eyeliner or dark lipstick shade which could have made the look too heavy. The fresh face keeps it very chic and very far from looking like an “emo”.
