This is a removed world, it is an empty place of cosmic beings and endless beauty. Photographer, Rio Surya Prasetia, creates a shoot so impalingly stunning that you find yourself wondering what story it is that it wishes to tell. ‘Caelestis’ is a fashionable representation of ancient divinity, Salvita DeCorte (model) transforms into a gladiator goddess, and like all goddess before her, she is enamouring.
Her soft brown eyes and silken skin transcend her to divine status without so much of a second thought. This shoot is so precisely and perfectly captured that it almost creates a new realm of fashionable applicability – like you are seeing a removed perspective on something you always knew was there, you had just never taken the time, or were never given the opportunity, to see it represented so whimsically and magnificently. Prasetia uses light and shadow to create a completely new world for us to view.
Adi Surantha, the stylist on this shoot, makes use of both masculine and feminine elements of fashion when covering DeCorte. There are the long flowing capes of feather, the silken gowns that beckon to the floor and sheer chiffon, which accentuates the soft and curvaceous female form. Royal touches of crystal, embroidery, feathers and pearl shells portray the nobility within the general appearance of the model, perhaps even showing us what one might witness if they were to see an angel on earth. And yet there is evidence of something stronger, of a sense of might within DeCorte; her regal poise, leather amour and corset body structure create the underlying notion of a warrior-like strength.
