Sweet like candy: Doina Ciobanu

Skirt suits – especially the kind that fall demurely below the knee – are not something you normally think of as appealing to the young and chic. But a quirky print can furnish even the most serious of silhouettes with a punch line, setting a balance of sophistication and youthful fun. The perfect example? Style blogger Doina Ciobanu wearing a matching set of high waisted skirt and three-quarter sleeve jacket, the sea of navy elevated from potential seriousness by a rain of red and white candy.

Doina had the suit made from Miu Miu fabric, perfectly matching her accessories to the colour palette – in this case a bold red Chloe cross-body bag and Charlotte Olympia pumps.

These shots of Doina – whose blog you can find at TheGoldenDiamonds.com – were snapped during Paris fashion week.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
