The Great Gatsby trailer is out, the roaring ’20s and all their excesses – as seen through the eyes of F. Scott Fitzgerald – are back in the forefronts of people’s minds. So it’s no surprise that editorials continue to play, some indirectly some very directly indeed, to the era and the literature being revived.
Elle France’s May 2012 issue went the literal route, with a shoot by David Vasiljevic that loosely recreates scenes from the story. The shots have a certain cinematic quality but somehow fall flat of the emotion they deserve; none the less Michèle Beaurenaut’s styling offers up some flapper-esque goodness to inspire your vintage fashion choices.
