Devotion: an ethereal take on Bridal styling

Devotion. A word that underscores the very need for fantasy lace bridal gowns like Karen Willis Holmes’, because what purpose is an eternal bond without it? And yet, nothing is typical about Bonnie Hansen’s shoot for FASHIONTREND magazine featuring Willis Holmes’ couture creations. This shoot is ethereal, haunting, and styled with quaint vintage accents that make its protagonists seem like they’re ghosts of another time.

Carl Reeves for Kevin Murphy had a strong part in the darkly romantic mood of the shoot courtesy his styling of bold raven-black pixie cuts, perfectly matched by unearthly white skin and red lips by makeup artist Blondie. Tessa-Rae Gusman’s unconventional styling – using accessories from House of Baulch and Shag Vintage – turns the narrative from a potentially typical one into a mystery so alluring it beckons you to enter the pages and uncover your own reading of the story.

Featuring in the fantastic issue 32 of FASHIONTREND Magazine (fashiontrend.com.au), which is out now, you can view the rest of the shoot at the gallery.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
