They haven’t become ubiquitos in so much as they have become iconic. Plunging necklines are an easy statement to make, slit dresses a stronger one. Envisage them in your mind’s eye, however, and it’s likely that you picture a floor length dress with a thigh-high split. That, or Angeline Jolie’s right leg. But spring 2014 is fast shaping up to be a story of something far sexier – the mini dress and its thigh splits.
Or, at least, I’m hoping that’s the case. While this autumn’s fashionable slits revolve around slashed tunics, a look hot in its own right, from the previews of spring 2014 collections that I’ve been privy to so far, the summer interpretation of slits are certainly standing out.
The Milonga dress from Jessica Choay is a fusion of the slashed tunic and the slit mini dress. A dress of layers, wide tunic divisions sit over the mini dress beneath. They move over it to, revealing flashes of it all the while providing the allure required of any slit dress.
Jessica Choay’s Milonga dress can be ordered via email@example.com ahead of her spring 2014 collection’s release; you can see all the photos I took of it by clicking the thumbnails.
