One for those dreaming of Spring

While Winter is still casting its icy breath over the southern hemisphere, that hasn’t stopped the blossoms sprouting forth in early dreams of Spring. And, for those Fashionisers also waiting patiently for the seasons to tick over, nor has it stopped their own dreams. Spring will be on us soon and bringing with it the spring 2011 fashion trends that are already trickling through.

Edgy styling by Lionel Mahaut in this shoot for L’Officiel Ukraine is a reminder from across the world of what’s to come. Things like graphic print bikinis and glamourously accessorised beachwear, and billowing retro fabrics in vibrant spring 2011 colours.

It’s not all meant to be taken literally: an armour-like take on the leather harness worn bare-breasted is not likely to be your swimwear of choice. But where entirely practical or glaringly not, the Urivaldo Lopes-photographed series doesn’t fail to inspire. The shoot, starring Anais Van Praet, helps keep our dreams of Spring alive.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
