Dynasty: an opulent family affair

Some things get passed on from generation to generation… Genetics, beauty, a learned sense of style, wealth, possessions… power. When it’s the latter that’s being passed on, it’s more than just an inheritance, it’s a Dynasty. As an homage to both “heritage and opulence” FASHIONTREND Magazine chose the word perfectly to sum up their latest issue, and the cover story inside it. It’s a story about family ties, but not of your average suburban home.

Virginia Dowzer’s luxurious styling of rich floral prints, intricate beading and live pythons calls to mind the exotic blood-lines of Ancient civilisations. Makeup artist Kim Tavares and hairstylist Caterina Di Biase add to the effect with heavy eyeshadow and exaggerated hairstyles.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
