The thing about saturated images of blue swimming pools dappled with golden sunlight is that they could be anywhere. They are the stuff of summertime fantasies so ripe with associations of warmth and glamour and relaxation that they start to feel real. Dream about such a scene enough, and you’ll find you can practically reach out into your own thought bubble and splash a hand into the water. Sipping a cocktail while emerging from a swimming pool as every gaze turns to admire your bikini body is the default office cubicle fantasy for a reason: shoots like this one make it so.

But that doesn’t mean a photographer can stick a daydream azure swimming pool into his shoot and proceed to rest on his laurels. Konstantin Sorokin knows it. His shoot for issue 15 of Bambi Magazine is the kind that’s perfectly realistic, and yet the stuff of every holiday fantasy. Olga Palkina is blonde, beautiful, but not bronzed; her milky complexion only serving to contrast the rich red lips and array of black swimsuits. A few carefully chosen accessories, and this is poolside luxury in its purest form.

Mixing in some sensual beach shots, Sorokin presents a shoot well worthy of indulging in fully. Put your sunhat on and view it at the gallery.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
